Lively! - Live, Don't Just Exist

Updated: May 24, 2019

We can enjoy the joys of life even while being on Dialysis.

One of the ways we at KWTT intend to bring awareness to kidney disease and kidney failure is through organized activities. We will be hosting several planned events and trips throughout the year, using it as a way to empower the Warriors.

Many Warriors, especially the newly diagnosed, usually have a hard time coming to terms with our diagnosis. We experience moments of despair, depression and anxiety. We may think that this is the beginning of the end and everything will all be downhill from here. What we don’t realize is, this way of thinking, although not necessarily on purpose can be very detrimental to our well being and healing.

We can’t properly heal ourselves from the inside out of our minds are riddled  with negativity. Negative thoughts not only poisons your mind but it seeps into your body creating a toxic wasteland of doubt, self loathing and sickness, which eventually spills over to your soul causing us to experience the aforementioned depression and anxiety.

“What does this have to do with organized events for renal patients?” You ask. Well it’s simple really, the way we at KWTT sees it, the best way to spark the life back into us is by seeing that we can indeed continue to live life to the fullest.

We can enjoy the joys of life even while being on Dialysis. We may have to take extra precautions, go the extra mile to remain safe while our none renal counterparts don’t have to think twice about what they eat or how much they drink. But with some will power eventually it will become second nature and you won’t need to think twice as well because it’s already embedded within you. Leaving room for you to go out and have fun.

So Lively! was created with that in mind. We want to offer an outlet for renal warriors to be able to come together, enjoy each other’s company, visit local places and just LIVE rather than merely EXIST. We will be hosting events such as parties, luncheons, dinners, retreats and excursions all with the key focus of living life to the fullest.
